I think that we should be allowed to have the option of choosing at least one domain from our house then any common domain with our 4 dots. Instead of 3 dots to house and one dot to common or a visage. I believe the visage part should stand. However Im not sure if you mean during character creation we can choose rank 1 of any visage or rank 1 of a visage that you have a domain to.

If you have something like Dropbox, you can put it in a public folder and send me a link.
I don't like to put my email address on the forum because the spam-bots will get it.
If you have an account here or on the White Wolf forum, I could private message you.

However, I will let you know that there is a low chance of me hosting it here.
Since it isn't based on Demon: the Return, it may not fit.
Also, while I'm willing to risk hosting my own files that White Wolf may order me to take down if they feel it infringes too much on their work, I wouldn't want to tempt fate with another's work.

So, if it is too much trouble to get me a copy, I'll understand. But I'd still like to see it.

I'll take a look at it.

I've finished the book, it's 100k words (~700K file). It is written for Demon using new WoD, however it is not based on Demon the Return. There is material for new character types that are appropriate for the Hyborian age (sorcerers, beastmen).

I see what you mean about the community being fairly dead. I tried to post on ShadowEssence, but bounced off a 500K aggregate upload limit. I'm not inclined to author and support my own wiki, but wouldn't mind getting the document posted somewhere, in case anyone develops an interest.

Given the description, are you interested in taking a look to see if you might be interested in hosting the book on this site?

Souls can only be traded while within Soul Cages.

A Demon can possess as many souls as they can get a hold of, while they are still in their Soul Cages. Of course, they can be stolen just like any objects.

With the Domain of the Soul 5, the Demon can place a traded Soul within his own body. The maximum number of souls he can store within himself is equal to his Dominion rating.

As long as a Demon has "room" for new souls, when one of his Thralls die, the soul travels directly to the Demon and is absorbed by the Demon. The speed of this travel is up to the Storyteller, but it should take no longer than a few minutes.

Good luck.
I would love to get an update when you complete your project.
If you remember, please send me a link or post here when you are done.

Thanks for the recommendation. I found this site via search engine, it's a fairly highly ranked hit.

Thanks for the compliments.

This site is the best you can get for posting more information about Demons for the New WoD, but I'm not sure about your sourcebook. If it is old WoD Demon set in other games systems, this may not be the best place for it. You may want to post on a couple of general gaming forums like rpg.net or any forum that talks about multiple game lines.

This community is small and not much happens on this site because there are no real changes happening any more (or at least I thought there weren't any).

You may want to even start your own site like I did here. These wikis are easy to edit and update. If you do, you will need to "advertise" on roleplaying forums. Otherwise, no one will ever find it. BTW, how did you find this site if you avoid web based social networking?

Evo,

I am 60% through writing a sourcebook to set a WoD Demon game in the world of Robert E. Howard (Kull of Atlantis, Conan of Cimmeria, etc.). I've been thinking about what to do with it when I am done, and stumbled on your site. I am impressed with your effort to bring Demon into the new WoD rules and the completeness of the Demon the Return sourcebook.

I am interested in making the sourcebook available for others to use. I tend to stay away from web based social networking and am asking for your opinion.
. Has your experience with this site suggested to you that there is a current Demon community that would make use of the material?
. Do you suggest this site as a good place to host the material in order to reach the community?

a fickle thing and comes from the belief of a person with a soul.
Most supernaturals don't have normal mortal souls or (in the case of Mages) know instead of believe.

After all that it was also a power thing. I thought it would make them too powerful to forge pacts with supernaturals as they would with mortals.

Buy a nice wallet is my interesting.I like prada wallets for men,I often buy wallets in some B2C website.prada leather wallet is my love.

Thanks for the compliments. It took a long time to do. I'm just happy there are people using it.

The Domain of Chaos was planned to be written. I was going to base it off of the Lore in the Earthbound book, but I never got to it. Rather than remove the reference, I left it in hopes that others would use the opportunity to create their own.

If you make your own Domain of Chaos, you can post it here for others to use.

Have fun.

I've recently run across your book and I must say I'm impressed. I'd been kicking around the idea of updating demon for several years but you've managed to sum it up nicely.

I have noticed one thing however while reading through it and i'm not sure if it was intentional or not. The Abyssal Returners are credited with having access to the 'Domain of Chaos' but this seems to have been left out of the book. were you intending to leave this up to the readers imagination or did you have some ideas as to how this domains evocations would play out?

I haven't thought about the virtue part… I guess is up to you to allow one of the following:
a) The soul just doesnt render when preying upon virtue
b) The soul does render but the victim suffers only from temporal willpower loss not morality making then feel sluggish instead of wicked
c) The soul renders just like with Vice and so good demons may have deal with the consecuences

The point of this idea was to explain why would Vampires have animosity towards Demons and think a about it: you are a happy vampire chillin with your coterie and one night you feed from this cult kid and you start to have alien-hellish visions, you get extra cranky and when you come out of frenzy you've totally screwed up… Now your morality is down. Months later, the lancea Sanctum comes down hard fumigating the city when they hear the rumors of demons in town. Turmoil would be like this contagious destructive force that might create a bad rep for demons even among other monsters…

Well the ideas are intended preferably for antagonist demons but that being said I think a good demon might have a moral dilemma with reaping faith anyways so they would rather make thralls out of their people close to them. And this sort of moral drama I believe makes playing a good demon even more rewarding, I guess I like to go for the Antihero when it comes to demons

by LloydSkyLion (guest), 06 Mar 2011 00:10

As with many (if not all) of your ideas, this makes being a Demon much more "evil". Not that it is bad. I like it. It does make Reaping less pleasant for the "good" Demons.
Would this effect Reaping using a Virtue as well?

One thought I had in regards to other supernaturals (especially vampires) and why would they view demons as undesirable guest in their domains was the fact that demonic activity always brings chaos (or turmoil) to everything they touch. Vampires and Demons may clash since in the end they both depend on mortals in some way or another. So what makes Demons so terrible to Vampires? They spoil the kin.

Soul rendering
A ST may take this optional rule to make demons extra troublesome to mortal and everyone else in a city.
Whenever a demon reaps faith from a mortal (not a thrall) either willingly or not they tore the person's soul. Like pulling a thread from a cloth taking faith will injure a person's soul. Mechanically speaking for each point of faith taken the victim looses one point of will power or morality (at ST discresion). This loss can be naturally restored by one point per week, as long as the person remains out of contact from the demon. During this recovering period the victim exhibits the signs of being Soulless (refer to mage the awakening for more details on loosing a soul), with the slight difference of not being prone to possession, like the real souless creatures for each morality point loss the mortal will feel more inclined to do heinous acts just on whim and additionaly the person will suffer from the same Urges the demon has. For each willpower point temporarily lost the mortal will tend to act uninspired until comatoze. Loosing all points in will or morality during reaping will result in death and the soul will be harvested by the demon. If a vampire drinks from a rendered mortal all rolls to resist frenzy increase difficulty by +2, in addition the vampire might experiences glimpses of turmoil and demonic urges meanwhile the vitae remains in the vampire's system.

Demons and other supernaturals?

My question is why can't demons rip faith from mages and other supernatural creatures and how would describe the relationships between demons and other supernaturals in crossover games?
